Yan Shui Feng Pao (Fireworks) 2008
The Yan Shui feng pao (pao pao) 2008 Fireworks Festival began last night. In what could be deemed as a ‘locals ceremony’, we followed the gods through the streets of Yan Shui. Tonight is the night where droves of tourists will converge on Yan Shui and experience the full beehive fireworks experience. I’ll post more photos later on today or tomorrow. Here are a few pictures for now.
How do you get to Yan Shui?
Directions:
Either take a train to Sin Ying and then a cab to Yan Shui, or drive to the Sin Ying interchange on highway 1 and go to Yan Shui. Follow the signs. It’s quite easy. You will know when you are there.

What is the date or dates of this firworks festival for 2009? ALSO — how does one get from the airport to the town — or to a nearby town.
AND - any suggestions on places to stay - not too expensive. Looks like a wild time.
It already happened this year. If you want to get there take a train or bus to Yan Shui and then a taxi to the area where they have the festivities.
