Taking photos is so easy these days with the dropping costs of digital cameras and memory cards it is possible for so many people to take thousands of photos and pick out their jewels for display. I am personally enjoying this side of photography myself, but the further I delve into it, the harder it is becoming.
I am thinking about shots before I go out, and even anticipating what obstacles I may encounter while shooting. I have a growing respect for people that are well trained and take great pictures. Photography is a science as much as it is an art.
I’d like to take some time occasionally at The Real Taiwan and introduce some photographers living in Taiwan. There are several really gifted people freelancing here. The first person on the list is a Mr. Steven Vigar, who is currently living in Tainan, Taiwan. Here are several photos of his followed by his biography:

Steven Vigar was born and raised in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada where he studied photography at the Northern Alberta Institute of Technology. He has worked as photo editor for The Nugget and is a regular contributor for the Firstlight Associated Photographers. Currently Steven is traveling Asia and working for southern Taiwan’s Xpat Magazine. Steven specializes in documentary, travel and portraiture.
