The N Word on a Hat

Just when I thought I could come to peace with it and just let it be, it rears it’s ugly head again to be seen by everyone, and my camera as well. What is it? The N***** King name emblazoned on a baseball cap. The picture of the store in Jung Li has been causing a lot of debate, and a lot of hotlinking to my site. There was even a link from a purely racist forum and I couldn’t do much so I figured out how to stop people from hotlinking.

I blocked out this guys eyes, but in fact it wasn’t his hat. It was a young damsel’s and she refused to wear it in a picture, but he was busy and she slapped it on his head so I was able to take a picture.

What is up with people having a store named this in the first place, and then others supporting it by wearing the merchandise. It is getting a little scary. Didn’t anyone tell them it is wrong? And please, no racist remarks or comments.

What is the problem with the word nigger? Who says who can and cannot use the word? We believe that the basis for real test of freedom of speech is to support real freedom of expression. Thereby supporting the theory you are free to speak but one is also free to ignore others free speech or not! To have the word nigger demonized and subjected to an elevation of importance which it does not deserve, baffles me. A true libertarian would say that to be offended by a word is to take ownership of the word and thereby the word take powers over the owner.
It is time to really take a good look at our culture and decide whether we truly want to be open minded and free or sensitive and slaves. We discuss these issues and others on our site if your interested in a true libertarian POV. The Daily Nigger

If you choose to ignore the the feelings of millions of people that feel harmed by the use of this word, then sure it’s ok. If you want to trace it back to its original meaning and use it freely to describe anyone that is your choice. I liken it to cursing on some level. If someone curses too frequently they really sound like an idiot. I’m all for being able to speak freely but when you have idiots abusing words and others using them to intentionally hurt others emotionally it makes sense let it go. There are other ways to say niggardly. Use a synonym and let it go.

To be offended by and to dwell on a simple word, an arrangement of letters is to be no less a slave to that word itself, than a real slave was to his master.

in other words, it only offends you if you let it, by letting it you keep it alive when the rest of us just wish the issue would die.

lengthy responses about racism are a waste of energy imo. Taiwanese people or wherever the hell this hat came from probably don’t know what nigger means in america. They just think it looks cool.

Woooaaah. Chill. It’s not racist on purpose. I bet they just heard rappers saying it alot and put King on the end. Simple as that.
