Taiwan Places: An Ping Lao Jie (Old Street), Tainan County
Went down to the An Ping Lao Jie (old street) with Fili (author of Filination, a blog about Taiwanese, Chinese, and Asian themes) today to see what’s new. It was more fun than I anticipated, and there were lots of goodies to eat and see. There were many traditional style snacks, and we had the An Ping famous shrimp rolls which are a yummy treat. Here is the An Ping Lao Jie (old street) photo album link if you want to see more pictures form the day. Here are photos of some food:
There were also some things to buy:
All in all it was a nice day out. We had some good snacks, and even bought a couple of cheap souvenirs (even though they were made in China! I won’t tell if you don’t).
How do you get there? The directions are:
(From Tainan City)
Follow An Ping Road to An Bei Road. It forks there so take the right fork.
Go down a little way to Gu BAo Road, and make a left. You’ll see the old street area over there so find a place to park and go for a stroll.

That was a lovely day.
