Bad Taiwan Driving: Brutal Hit and Run Video

Here is another video that can be considered brutal and graphic. It is from a street camera and shows a car driving down the street and taking out a woman that is walking with her back to the car. Please don’t watch if you are upset by such things.

One thing that really bothers me about this video is how no one went to see if she was ok in it. The other lady that nearly got hit as well just walked away like nothing happened.

  1. wtf?

OK you know how everyone says that taiwan is backwards and fucked up? Let me ask you, “What would you do if a lady got tossed like that and landed at your feet?” Correct answer is, “I’d help her and make sure, at least, her airpipe was open and she could breath.”

Now watch it again and look at umbrella lady. I would yell right in her face, grab that umbrella out of her hand and throw her cart across the street for how she made a run for it.

    Damn I’m angry.

  2. The hit and run is the main crime but that lady also committed a crime by not having any concern for a fallen person. It doesn’t shock me after hearing stories from foreigners where they said they were left for dead on the streets as people kept cruising by. Yeah, I was pissed after watching that.

  3. No, Taiwan is the best country on this PLANET.

If you don’t like Taiwan then you should disappear
in a dirty, stinking Muslim country.

I mean it. Malaysia is a shit, Indonesia is a shit,
    all the others are shit.

Taiwan is number one in the world.

  4. Lao Ma –

Your comment is terrible. Up for the worst comment ever on this site. It doesn’t even come close to being relevant, and when you diss other countries like that without provocation, your intelligence comes into question. Do me a favor and don’t come back to this site.

  5. Lao Ma,
But Taiwan is not a country – its a province. Strange post.

  6. Duke,

Taiwan is a country. I live here, and I know this as a fact. All other concepts about this are based on China’s wishes for expansion. Taiwan is a country with democratically elected officials, government services, and customs that are not related to mainland China. Try explaining that.

  7. Speechless, if you watch carefully, it almost seems as if the driver of the car was all out to hit that lady… what exactly was he avoiding on the other side? There seems to be tons of videos of accidents in Taiwan… would never want to be driving over there…

  8. It is like the driver was on the phone, or distracted for a few seconds, which ended up being a few seconds too late. After the hit they swerved back and then took off.

Driving here can be rough. Basically expect everyone wants to be in front of you at all times (because they do)

  9. Hey guys:

This video clip is too short to see the fact. There was surely someone called 119 for help already. Also, people tried to ran after the ran-away driver to remember his registration number. The old lady with unbrella on her hand was for sure terrified for the situation. Moreover,we shouldn’t move wounded person in a car accident.Calling ambulance to help is the best help for her.

  10. On my last trip to Tainan a motorcyclist was hit and even though the car stopped nobody would help the poor chap on the ground who was out of it. I took off my jacket and kept him warm as he was coming round. My wife said that people just don’t want to get involved. The Police came and ignored me which was no problem as I got my jacket back with blood all over it. I just could not accept that no one should not help anyone in the event of an accident. Crossing the road for pedestrians is quite a challenge the traffic does not stop at pedestrian crossings even when the green man in walking. Trying to walk on a pavement, well what pavement they are scooter parks so walkers have to walk on the road and tempt fate. Better take a taxi, sorry environment.
Are there any laws for the crossings? Its a good job that there are no groups of tourists from back home in UK, on the other hand it would be quite an experience. I found the Taiwanese people to be so friendly and kind so look forward to a return visit.

  11. Look like a deliberate hit and run to me. Did this lady survive?

  12. It doesn’t look promising there. She got whacked pretty hard.

  13. I think half of the problem is to do with Taiwan´s legal system. I have heard of several incidents when a passerby or some who wasn´t involved in the accident stopped to help, and then later the person whom they were trying to help tried to sue them. Personaly I think the police should be stricter on people who don´t stop and help.
