Appreciate this

Well, if you’re like most people, you’re in Taiwan because you want to check out a new place and make a little $$$. One of the problems with making money here is you never know for sure when the best time to exchange your money is. You could theoretically stand to save lots more money if you exchange on the right day, when the exchange rate is better. I find a good way to go if you don’t want to exchange tons of cash is to change the money to travellers checks. You could transfer via your bank here and your local bank, but there is a 500 NT charge plus whatever your bank in your home country charges. The reason this we’re writing this is because of an article in the Taipei times basically saying that they expect the NT to appreciate against the greenback for the next 3 months. So if you’re leaving soon or have been waiting to change your money, this may be the best time.
